Hvilsted Consult
Hvilsted Consult provides advice, assistance, and service within various areas of polymer technology as well as polymer synthesis and analysis. Hvilsted Consult is backed by the experience of Professor Emeritus Søren Hvilsted, who has actively researched more then 40 years with design, preparation, utilization, and characterization of novel polymer materials during his carrier at Risø National Laboratory and the Technical University of Denmark. Hvilsted Consult has in the past provided services to various large companies like Coloplast A/S, LEGO, Hempel A/S, and Haldor Topsøe A/S.

Professor Hvilsted has more than 218 scientific journal publications (H-index 46), 11 patents, and 234 conference proceedings to his credit (Publications pdf). He made noticeable and significant contributions to the implementation of polyesters and other materials for optical information storage by holography as well as polymer electrolytes for fuel cells with various applications. Additionally, he contributed novel synthetic strategies in controlled radical polymerizations and new synthetic methods for siloxane chemistry. A major contribution has been the collaboration with and supervision of 35 Danish and international Ph. D. students from Germany, Spain, China, India, and Sweden.

Professor Hvilsted’s present activities involves the engagement as member of the board of “Sustainable Polymers and Transition Pathways” (STEPS (ref) based in Lund) a Swedish environmental research program supported by MISTRA, an affiliation to the board of IDA Polymer (ref) (formerly the Danish Society for Polymer Technology), and finally being the Danish representative to European Polymer Federation (ref), Prague. The most recent past activity has been as panel member of Panel 5: “Organic Chemistry and Materials” (ref), European Research Council, Brussels.
